Everyone wants a lovely chocolate every now and then; whether it’s a personal treat, a special occasion or for a loved one. These chocolates are usually expensive because of the culture and history developed over many generations of people that are experts in innovating and making great tasting chocolates made from the finest raw cocoa brewing in the earth soil.

A brief history and prices of some of the world’s best chocolates are documented below. Will you buy these chocolates or are they not worth the price. Discuss in the comments at the end of the article. Additions or anything Chocó lately is welcome.

Godiva Chocolatier: The ‘G’ Collection

Godiva is a renowned chocolate maker founded in Brussels, Belgium about in 1926. It was innovated by Joseph Draps through research and development is has developed to a unique taste. There are over 460 stores where Godiva is being sold around the world. The Godiva G Collection comes in several sizes including the 48 piece box being the largest, 30 piece box and a 15 piece box being the smallest.

The assortments include are Lemon Drop, , Bananas Foster, Tart Raspberry, Apple Pie, , Salted Caramel Tahitian Vanilla, P.B. & Jam and Caramel Macchiato.

The price is $125- this varies with the size of the box.


Chocopologie by Knipschildt

Fritz Knipschildt founded Chocopologie, he is a Danish Chocolatier and he is also a chef; he has won several prestigious awards for his skills in chocolatiering which has brought notoriety to the brand and worldwide acclaim. He opened a cafe in the downtown area of South Norwalk and it has become a popular location to eat the chocolate

There are several variations of chocolates to the brand including hot chocolates and the famous truffle.

Le Madeline au Truffle is the chocolate in the brand that made the Forbes list

The price is $250 the Le Madeline au Truffle is the most expensive chocolate in the world and has to be eaten in a week!


Richart Chocolates

The chocolate is named after its founder, a Chocolatier named Richart, it was founded in 1925 in Lyons of France, They use the high quality Venezuelan cocoa beans to make the chocolates and this is arguably the highest quality cocoa in the world.

The price tag is $120 will you give it a try?


Delafee Chocolates: this chocolate is made with real gold… you can eat

Delafee is founded in Switzerland, they are known for the high quality taste and also for its edible gold and silver chocolates. There products include gold body art, cigars and lollipops. The Swiss chocolate are well known for their chocolate making. They are made from Grand Cru Chocolate, which is found and extracted from Ekuador in Indonesia.

The price is $508 for a box, this differs depending on the box quantity.


Noka Vintages Collection

This is an American chocolate brand company founded in Texas by Noka Chocolates; it draws critics from the press for its high price and get its chocolates from high quality cocoa.

The price is $854 for per pound of chocolate; They come in stainless steel boxes and it the most expensive chocolate founded in the America.


Chuao by Chuao Chocolatier

This is a Venezuelan Chocolatier company it was founded by Antonorsi Brothers one is a master chef, their chocolates are very experimental and has an unusually taste.

The honeycomb bar with caramelized honey in dark chocolate is one of their best chocolates. Thier chocolates have no preservatives and leave everything to the senses. They create a variety of products including hot chocolates drinks, chocolates for vegans and wine chocolate including many others

Teuscher Chocolate

Is a Swiss Chocolatier, they are most noted for their Champagne Truffles. All their chocolates are made by hand by many great Chocolatiers in Switzerland. They are well known internationally for their well handmade chocolates.

The price is $75 per pound.


Richard Donnelly Chocolates

Another self titled Chocolatier known for his hand crafted chocolates. He studied in Paris and Brussels to learn from the best chocolate makers he went to America to launch his chocolate brand, they have a chocolate of the month club sent to loyal customers and chocolate enthusiast. He makes chocolates for weddings and also chocolates dipped in nuts and or fruits.

For $50 or $90 for membership to the chocolate club and receive chocolates every month which can be customized to suit you or otherwise handpick your favorites.

The price is $76 per pound.


Vosges Haut Chocolate

They are known for their unique variety of Truffles as well as the odd Bacon Chocolate. Katrina Markoff a entrepreneur, owner and Chocolatier. She is known for incorporatin history and culture to find spices and flavor to Vosges Haut Chocolates. The Aztec is a featured source of inspiration for many of the chocolates in the brand.

Pierre Marcolini Chocolates

This is a French chocolate company founded by Sulpice Debauve in the 1800, they are known for the Le Royale which is an assortment of several chocolates which are handcrafted, it was only made public in 1913, prior to that is was exclusive to the royal family

They make truffles such as organic green tea truffles; another popular chocolate is the De Marie Antoinette which are chocolate coins in several shapes and sizes.

This is a French chocolate factory founded in Paris, France, in 1955, they are well known for the famous chocolate éclair which was launched in their first store in New York in 1990. They have have expanded selling signature boxes among other things

Is a chocolate making company from Normandy, they are known for their high quality chocolate that are hand crafted to near perfection, the most well noted product is the chocolate bars which comes in many forms that the company sells, it was founded in 1948


Jacques Torres Chocolate

Also well know as a famous pastry chef and hosting his own a television show he has gained the nickname Mr. Chocolate as an indication to the quality of chocolates he creates. The prices vary.
